The Bosch NIT5665UC 500 Series 36-in Induction Cooktop is a fabulous component for any kitchen. The entire surface of this cooktop is completely smooth, which makes for a speedy cleanup after cooking. Having a touch control panel leaves the surface free from knobs to control each of the elements. This means that the surface can be wiped clean with a few swipes, instead of working around knobs that protrude from the top.
The controls provide direct cooking selection for the 5 elements. Most cooktops only have 4 elements, but this Bosch 500 has a large element placed right in the center of the other four. This center burner is equipped with the standard sized element ring in the center, but then it has a much larger one that is perfect for accommodating very large pots. The back right burner is the smallest element of all, which is great for a little saucepan.
Each of the elements have what is called SpeedBoost. This feature provides radiant heat to the elements in such a manner that water is able to be boiled twice as fast as a standard stove with raised elements. Every element also has its own count down timer, making it easier to keep track of cooking time when there are a lot of pots and pans on the cooktop.
There is also a feature called Clean Lock that keeps the settings in place when cleaning. This eliminates the chance of rubbing across one of the control buttons and altering the temp of an element.
With overflow detection, this cooktop is able to shut off the burner with the spill and sound an alarm. There is also an anti-overheat system to shut off the cooktop if the temperature of the surface gets too hot for safety. The Bosch NIT5665UC 500 Series 36-in Induction Cooktop also has a child lock safety feature to keep the elements from being turned on accidentally. As if all of the above features don’t make this an outstanding piece of kitchen equipment, the elements can sense the size of the cooking pot and adjust the heated area of the element to fit. It even warns people of when the surface is still warm to the touch.
